Democratizing — an overview of pandemic and democracy in Brazil brings together 50 articles originally published on the blog Democratizando between 2019 and 2021. Given the current political context, this bilingual edition (Portuguese and English) debates on transitional policies of memory and truth, accountability, reparations and institutional reforms. The texts are organized chronologically and cataloged into five themes that have been recurrent and central throughout the existence of the Democratizando blog: attacks on diversity, academic freedom, militarization of politics, transitional justice and constitutional erosion.
